Another big drop in sales of electric vehicles in the German market

It's not good in Germany, but you already know that. Major manufacturers are struggling with the crisis and the new car market is also suffering. Sales figures now maintain an air of mild pessimism, but also a complete shift away from electric cars.

There are no state subsidies, so there are no satisfactory sales figures. In November, 244544 passenger vehicles were sold, which is a slight decrease of 0.5 percent compared to a year ago.

Electric vehicles are in big trouble in Europe's biggest market. According to figures published by the Federal State Motor Transport Administration (Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt - KBA), in November there was a 22 percent decrease in sales of electric vehicles compared to the same month a year ago. In that month, a total of 35,167 new electric vehicles were registered, which is 14,4 percent of all new registrations. Too little for a serious transition.

In the month of November, 94,554 hybrid vehicles were sold, which represents an impressive increase of 20.3 percent compared to the same month last year. Of these, 20,604 were plug-in hybrids, an increase of 13.7 percent. Hybrids now account for 38.7 percent of all new registrations.

Electric vehicle manufacturers have been hit hard. Tesla had a dramatic 55.1 percent drop in sales in November, delivering just 2,103 vehicles in Germany.

Year-to-date, Tesla's sales in Germany are down 43.6 percent, to just 33,669 vehicles sold. Polestar, another electric vehicle maker, is down 52.6 percent year-to-date compared to the same period last year. /Telegraph/
