Two days ago, Speaker Glauk Konjufca stated that there is accurate information that hundreds of people in Serbia are exercising and preparing for a possible attack on Kosovo.
The deputy of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Rashit Qalaj, reacted to this statement, who described this statement as an act of populism, criticizing Konjufca for using this information for political purposes, especially on the eve of the upcoming elections.
"You know that we have an election year and Kosovo is on the verge of elections, since the regular deadline for holding elections is within 6 months. Normally, when you have leaders of institutions who are populists, you have such information", said Qalaj, for RTV Dukagjini.
According to him, the publication of this information can cause panic and fear in the population, while instead, they should be used to prepare the security institutions for possible situations.
"Any information that Mr. Glauk Konjufca has, but also all of us, must be shared with the security institutions and not torture the population with such news. If they get them and publish them, that's too bad. Instead of coming up with options to terrorize and scare the population of Kosovo, we should use that information, especially the security institutions to prepare for such situations", added Qalaj.
As he emphasized that even in the past there were discussions about possible attacks from Serbia, Qalaj said that the officials of the party in power, Vetëvendosjes, should face justice if they alluded to the terrorist attack in Banjska spreading fear of a war of possible with Serbia.
"Even in the past, there was talk of an attack from Serbia, not of the Banjska type. If there was any information about such a terrorist attack and the security institutions knew about it, and when they said that there could be a war with Serbia, they alluded to these incidents, then they wanted to face justice. Because of them, it was necessary for the security institutions to use the information to prepare so that such situations do not occur...", Qalaj said, among other things. /Dukagjin/
