The American ambassador welcomes the decision of the Government of Kosovo regarding 5G devices

The Ambassador of the United States of America in Kosovo, Philip Kosnett, has welcomed the decision of the government authorities in Kosovo to prevent the use of 5G devices, provided by unreliable vendors, in communication networks.

This decision of the government authorities in Kosovo was announced by the Prime Minister of the country, Avdullah Hoti, after the meeting with the representatives of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic and Postal Communications (ARKEP), as the most competent body in the field of electronic communications.

In this meeting, Prime Minister Hoti emphasized the importance of national security, maintaining public order, maintaining the state border for stable and reliable operation through the relevant state institutions and coordination of inter-institutional actions.

We commend #Kosovo for ensuring its #5G networks are on a clean path, free of untrusted vendors, in line with the Washington Agreements. We will continue working together towards secure regional communications integration & expansion of Kosovo's digital economy.
