The world's first smartphone almost arrived from this company

The concept of the smartphone existed long before Apple introduced the iPhone and made the concept popular.

In the past, there were people who used PDAs, and they could almost be considered the ancestors of smartphones.

It seems that Nintendo was one of those companies that surpassed Apple in this area.

Liam Robertson, a video game historian and researcher, discovered a Nintendo ad from the 1990s that shows the company was working on an add-on for the Game Boy Color.

This add-on is known as BoBoy, and when used with the Game Boy Color, it offers smartphone-like features.

Features include Internet connectivity and the ability to read news, magazines, weather reports, watch TV, and contact and message other BoY users.

However, Nintendo has never made it public, as the device's communication technology has only been used in certain parts of the world. Nintendo wanted a device that would work anywhere in the world, not just in select markets.

Had it been released, Nintendo could have easily become one of the first, if not the first, company to launch a smartphone. /Telegraph/
