Taravari: The current governing model risks deepening ethnic and political divisions in the country

The Chairman of the Alliance for Albanians, Arben Taravari, has raised serious concerns about the legitimacy of the current government in North Macedonia, emphasizing that the lack of full representation of Albanians in the executive constitutes a deformation of the civic will in a multiethnic state.

Taravari stated for "Nacionale" that the current composition of the government does not reflect the real composition of the Parliament or society, pointing out that the vast majority of Albanian MPs are in the opposition.

"In a country where Albanians are state-forming, we cannot have a functioning government without the proper involvement of their representatives. MPs are the voice of the people, and when most of them are left out of the government, representation falls into a crisis of legitimacy," Taravari said.

He stressed that the current governing model risks deepening ethnic and political divisions in the country, leaving Albanians on the margins of decision-making processes, despite their continuous contribution to the institutional life of the state.

Taravari has spoken openly about the reasons that led his subject to leave the WLEN coalition and cease cooperation within the government of North Macedonia. He said that the decision was neither spontaneous nor emotional, but built on a long analysis of the political situation and the behavior of the partners until yesterday.

"When there is a lack of respect for the citizen who voted for you, every political project loses its meaning. What we saw within VALEN was political arrogance, not equal partnership," Taravari declared. /Telegrafi/
