The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) candidate for mayor of South Mitrovica, Arian Tahiri, commented on the insults of the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, during an electoral rally of the Vetëvendosje Movement at the "Minatori" gym.

Kurti had used the phrase “spare tire” to describe the PDK race, arguing that the party was not competing with the current leader, Bedri Hamza, and that Tahiri was the party’s second choice.

Tahiri gave an answer on Debat Plus.

"I don't know exactly what he thought of the spare tire. But I was the original tire. At first I walked alone. And I only went with people from Mitrovica. I opened the doors to the houses of good and honest people in Mitrovica myself. I knocked on the door myself, I opened them myself. While for his candidate, this one opened the doors. He went and sat as his spare tire. So this is the reality that happened in the campaign," said Tahiri.
