Steak with Zottarella, a recipe you must try

Mozzarella is used in various recipes. But, the classic mozzarella from Zott which comes packaged as Zottarella, is a fresh product, produced from the milk of the best German pastures, where today we are bringing a recipe for a steak which when combined with mozzarella from Zottarella which melts completely – is simply, fantastic.
Ingredients for 2 people
2 steaks – beef fillet (at least 150 g each),
Salt, black pepper, red pepper powder (paprika),
2 tablespoons of sunflower oil,
1 package of Zottarella (≈ 125 g),
2 medium tomatoes,
2 jalapeno peppers,
2 cloves of garlic,
1 sprig of basil and 1 sprig of parsley,
1 sprig of rosemary and spices of choice,
1 teaspoon sambal oelek (spicy sauce),
2 teaspoons of "zingara sauce" (or another marinade sauce).
Preparation instructions
1. Preparing the meat
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C (with top and bottom heat).
- Clean the meat and pat dry with kitchen paper. Marinate it with salt, pepper, and a little chili powder to taste.
- Heat the oil in an ovenproof pan. Cook the steaks on both sides for about 5 minutes each, until golden brown.
2. Preparing the vegetables and Zottarellas
- Meanwhile, open the Zottarella package and take out the slices,
- Wash the tomatoes and cut into slices,
- Wash the jalapenos, cut in half, remove the seeds, then chop finely,
- Peel the garlic and cut into thin slices,
- Wash the spices (basil, parsley, rosemary, etc.) and chop.
3. Baking and finalizing
- After frying, let the steaks rest for a while, then brush the surface with the sauce of your choice. Add garlic cloves on top.
- Place tomatoes and Zottarella slices in a sequential order, one on top of the other (tomatoes → Zottarella → tomatoes → Zottarella) on each steak.
- Place in the oven for 5-8 minutes, just until the Zottarella starts to melt.
- Once they come out of the oven, add the sliced jalapenos and chopped spices, finalizing the decoration of the dish.
