British Prime Minister Keir Starmer declared at the Munich Security Conference that Great Britain will send its aircraft carrier strike group to the North Atlantic and Far North regions this year.

He explained that the group will be led by HMS Prince of Wales, operating "together with the United States, Canada and other NATO allies."

"This is a powerful demonstration of our commitment to Euro-Atlantic security," Starmer said, writing sky news.

He stressed the importance of nuclear cooperation with France, recalling that the United Kingdom has been the only nuclear power in Europe that is committed to the defense of all NATO members.

Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Starmer stressed that Europe must be able to "deter aggression".

He added that "we must be ready to fight" and do whatever "is needed to protect our people, our values and our way of life."

"As Europe, we must stand on our own two feet," the British leader said, stressing that this means being bolder, putting aside petty politics and short-term concerns, and acting together to build a stronger Europe and a more European NATO.

Europe is a sleeping giant that has extraordinary defense capabilities, emphasizing that European economies are ten times stronger than Russia's, Starmer said.

"However, this potential is often less than the sum of its parts," Starmer said, adding that "fragmented industrial planning and supply have led to gaps in some areas and a huge duplication in others."

As an example, he mentioned that Europe has several types of fighter jets and frigates. He also pointed out that Europe uses ten types of main battle tanks, while the US has only one. /Telegraph/
