The launch of SpaceX's largest rocket is canceled for today

(Completed) The test launch of SpaceX's largest rocket has been canceled for today.

The news comes as the Starship team says that as the launch time approached, they were working out some issues and they may cancel the launch for today if necessary.

So a little later the SpaceX engineer, John Insprucker, has said that they would work to determine when they can make the next attempt. /Telegraph/

Blankets, camping chairs awaiting launch

Space enthusiasts have flocked to Texas in hopes of seeing the test at the launch site from Boca Chica.

Some have brought camping chairs, blankets and prepared for the reception.

SpaceX is about to take the first test flight of a mega-rocket that could one day take us to Mars, and that's just minutes away.

If successful, Starship will be the tallest and most powerful fully reusable rocket ever flown, the Telegraph reports.

But that's a pretty big 'if'.

That's after SpaceX founder Elon Musk gave the test launch only a 50 percent chance of success, hinting that it could blow up like many of its predecessors.

"I'm not saying it will reach orbit", the media remember Musk's statement at the Morgan Stanley Conference on March 7, "but I guarantee excitement!".

"I think there's about a 50 percent chance of reaching orbit," he added, referring to the first test launch.

But he gave the rocket an 80 percent chance of successfully reaching orbit by the end of the year. /Telegraph/

It's only a matter of time until SpaceX's biggest rocket ever launches

SpaceX's spacecraft, called Starship, is currently sitting on a launch pad at the company's facilities on the south coast of Texas.

And for a little while, namely around 15:00 according to the time in Kosovo, she is expected to start her historical journey.

It is about the rocket which was presented by NASA just a few months ago and is considered the most powerful rocket ever in orbit.

SpaceX is expected to launch its largest rocket ever today

Just months after NASA unveiled the most powerful rocket ever into orbit, Elon Musk's SpaceX is poised to launch its historic journey.

SpaceX's spacecraft, called Starship, is currently sitting on a launch pad at the company's facilities on the south coast of Texas, the Telegraph reports.

The company aims to go live at 8:00 a.m. ET (15:00 p.m. Kosovo time) on Monday.

"I think I'd just like to set expectations low," SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said during a Spaces Twitter event for his followers on Sunday night. "If we get far enough away from the launch pad before something goes wrong, then I guess I'd consider that a success..."

He added: "There is a good chance it will be delayed as we will be very careful about this launch."

As the media points out, this will be SpaceX's first attempt to launch a fully assembled Starship, building on a multi-year test campaign.

Musk has been talking about Starship — giving detailed presentations about its design and purpose — for half a decade.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that the rocket is almost 120 meters high and is designed to have almost double the "thrust" of any rocket in history.

Musk has even said that his sole purpose for founding SpaceX was to develop a Starship-like vehicle that could establish a human settlement on Mars.

In addition, NASA has already awarded contracts to SpaceX worth several billion dollars to use Starship to transport government astronauts to the surface of the Moon under the space agency's Artemis program. /Telegraph/
