Sony is changing tactics for the PlayStation 5

Holiday sales didn't go as Sony had planned, and the company's appetites have changed accordingly.

Sony missed sales targets for the PlayStation 5 console over the holiday period.

The company failed to sell 25 million consoles last year, so it lowered its target for this year to 21 million.

During the 2023 holiday season, Sony shipped 8.2 million PlayStation 5 consoles, bringing total PS5 shipments to 54.8 million in four years.

The PS5 apparently didn't perform to the level of the PS4, which Sony confirmed in last year's QXNUMX financial report.

The PS4 has currently sold more than the PS5, namely 2.5 million consoles, while it was expected that in 2023, the PlayStation 5 would surpass the previous model in all parameters. /Telegraph/
