Socialism and its fable

In response to general discontent, human society has always managed to create/shape new models of political systems. Such would be socialism. In the Europe of the 18th and 19th centuries, socialism would arise as a countercurrent to the dominance of the impact brought by the industrial revolution, so-called capitalism, which, although several centuries have passed, seems to be the most persistent and strongest order than all the others. He has not moved at all from his core. From time to time they have attacked, anathema, hit and fought, but he is the only one who survived. Because man under this order, regardless of the goods and rights he enjoys, continues to suffer the same "slavery". Socialism, on the other hand, would appear in three forms: democratic socialism, the Marxist one, and the other social democratic one.

As with any starting point, the primary implementation of socialism would be considered an experiment. In the Paris of 1871, a group of people from the working class came together to form a government with socialist principles, where economic equality and democratic governance would prevail. The initiative failed, but the spirit spread. In Great Britain and across the ocean, in the USA, also inspired by Robert Owen, small communities with the same principles and ideals were also formed, whose success seemed quite impossible. But, it happened differently. The first widespread spread would be in the Soviet Union with the October Revolution, in 1917, which was led by Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky. The Bolshevik Party of the time aimed to build a classless society where any property/industry or private asset would be centralized by the state. He would possess control over everything.

But, this story of a new order that was being established in almost half of the world, especially after the Second World War, brought many surprises. This philosophy of the left degraded throughout history in decades, aligning itself in the wrong direction of history. The Russian revolution invented by the Bolsheviks brought a communism that was then implemented by the countries of the East in a brutal dictatorial system, where the philosophy of the European left was left only in name. The creation of the party-state spread rapidly throughout Eastern Europe, as well as in our country, the strengthening of which would increase especially in the decades after the Second World War. It would be precisely this division in spirit, not only political, which would make the difference between the West and the East, a division of worlds that the East suffers even today. Terms like freedom, faith and individual enterprise could not even be thought of, because the economy, excluding the first years of industrial development, began to suffer from the disappearance of private property. Censorship and freedom of speech were sanctioned by law.

A new order was being established. But was this socialism the desired one? Rights that were missing? Equality and a classless society? Did Robert Owen, Henri de Saint-Simon and Charles Fourier really foresee this escalation of the situation as they inspired new societies in Europe? Their political leaders? Of course not! Socialism was related to the state's ability to come to the aid of the individual, to provide opportunities for education and employment to everyone. To give voice to the rights, to fight the inequality of the classes, which was being violated by the bourgeois of the time, taking the proletariat under its spell. Unfortunately, this did not happen in Eastern Europe. The new post-war order for decades created trauma in the respective societies and the most reflective example would be the fable with the cows, where after you have taken care of them, even milked them, and the milk, the party-state would not only appropriate it , but it could also steal your glass at the end. Meanwhile, in the West and in Scandinavia, socialism would be established in its most utopian and democratic way. The economic progress that those societies had in terms of industry and economy, the establishment of a value system and the formation of a strong state pillar are still the reasons that, even in a time of turmoil like today, they stand firmly on their feet.

Politics today has modernized, moving away from the basic principles underlying each stream and creating a mix that is driving the right and left towards the center. Therefore, beyond the positive sides, there are also negative aspects, where we have a loss of identity and ideals. Globalism and stabilocracy has brought a state stand-by in society. The path to the center is easily attainable, but maintaining a balance is difficult, and mixing two opposites can create dangerous mutations. The world is going through a chaotic period of transition and while it will take some time until the situation clears up, the "monsters" will still continue... to roam.
