Ships heading to Gaza, Meloni: Stop the mission immediately

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has called for the international flotilla of ships, which is trying to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, to immediately halt its mission.
She warned that continued confrontation with Israel could disrupt the current "delicate balance" that could lead to peace, based on US President Donald Trump's plan.
"Many would be happy if this plan were thwarted. I fear that the ship's attempt to break the Israeli naval blockade could be used as an excuse for this. For this reason, I believe the ship should stop now," she added.
The Italians will follow the ship until it is 278 kilometers off the Gaza coast, reports reuters.
The ship announced that Italy had communicated to it today that the frigate pursuing it would contact it by radio shortly and offer its members the opportunity to abandon ship and return to shore before reaching the "critical area".
The Global Sumud Fleet has announced that over 40 civilian ships, carrying parliamentarians, lawyers and activists, including Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, will continue sailing to break the Israeli blockade of the Palestinian enclave.
The Italian Ministry of Defense announced earlier today that the Italian navy will stop pursuing the international fleet when it is 278 kilometers, or 150 nautical miles, away from the Gaza coast. /Telegraph/
