THE ENVOI

If this were poetry
the last one
absolutely last
that you will ever write,
What are you going to write?
"Oh World, you stinking old whore!"
It's been fantastic to meet you;
to know the sun, the moon, the stars, beautiful women
waves and graves
I'm leaving you now.
for one who has no smell
a Greek urn
"Good night and goodbye"
