On December 29, it will be 5 years since the terrible accident that Michael Schumacher suffered on a ski slope, practically "disappearing" from public attention.

Since that dark day for the family and millions of supporters of the 7-time Formula 1 champion, a lot has happened. Lewis Hamilton has broken the German's career pole position record, 83 with 68.

However, the former Benetton, Ferrari and Mercedes driver remains ahead in terms of races won (91 to 73) and championship titles (7 to 5).

His ardent fan, Sebastian Vettel, followed in his footsteps at Ferrari but was unable to repeat his success.

Even his son Mick, who was only 14 years old when his father had an accident, is already a Formula 3 champion and promises to follow in Schumacher's footsteps in Formula 1.

But although so far little has been said about the German's recovery, "Daily Mail" reports that Schumi has made improvements in recent weeks and has even been able to walk, is no longer lying in bed and no longer survives only thanks to equipment.

However, the treatment he is undergoing costs more than €55 a week and despite what was reported months ago, he continues to stay at his home in Galand, Switzerland and has not moved to Majorca.
