The romantic president, François Hollande: He sent his ex-partner 29 texts a day

Former French first lady Valerie Trierweiler has written in a book to be published this week that her ex-husband, French President Francois Hollande, has tried to win her heart again by sending her flowers, dinner invitations and phone messages.

Trierweiler (49), a journalist for the magazine "Paris Match", lived with Hollande in the Elysee Palace for a year and a half, until January of this year, namely until the time when the magazine "Closer" revealed the secret relationship of the French president with the actress Julie Gayet (42), Telegraph reports.

After the break with the French president, Trierweiler has given interviews and written columns regularly in the magazine where he worked, but in a 320-page book, which will be in bookstores from Thursday, he will describe previously unknown episodes from his life her and Hollande.

According to some excerpts from the book, published today by "Paris Match" magazine, Hollande saved Valerie's life by taking the pills from her hand, with which she wanted to commit suicide, at the moment it was discovered that her husband he was cheating on her.

Trierweiler also revealed in her book that she was jealous of Segolene Royal, Hollande's former partner, with whom the French president has four children and is now a minister in his government.

He also described Hollande's attempts to win her heart back, when he sent her up to 29 phone messages a day. /Telegraph/
