The Mayor of Shtime, Qemajl Aliu, held today the second public meeting with citizens, where he presented the report on the works, projects and investments carried out during the second half of 2025.

During his address, Mayor Aliu presented completed and ongoing projects in important sectors such as infrastructure, education, health, social welfare and public services. He emphasized that the budget of the Municipality of Shtime for 2025 was over 11 million euros, enabling the implementation of projects with a direct impact on improving the lives of citizens.


"This was a period filled with continuous commitment and concrete results that have solved problems and made the lives of our citizens easier. This was the last six months of the work chapter in the first mandate, while the new mandate finds us with even greater responsibility and a lot of work ahead," declared Mayor Aliu.

In the field of education, he announced the increase in subsidies, the operationalization of four nurseries where around 250 children currently benefit, as well as investments in almost all schools in the municipality. Also, 120 scholarships have been allocated to students from the Municipality of Shtime this year.

Regarding infrastructure, Mayor Aliu highlighted the projects of atmospheric sewage, public lighting, the implementation of the inner ring road project, as well as the construction and revitalization of many local roads, including the new Malësia roads in the villages of Topilla, Rance and Devetak.

One of the most important projects, according to him, is the demolition of the building in front of the municipality building, which will pave the way for the realization of the city square project and the construction of the underground parking lot.

Mayor Aliu also spoke about investments in health and social welfare, mentioning the continuation of works on the construction of the new Main Family Medicine Center, the construction of the special entity, the municipal administration building, and the regulation of the riverbed, projects worth millions.

In the field of culture, youth and sports, he highlighted investments in sports halls, subsidizing new publishers, organizing the traditional "FolkFest" festival, holding the first-ever children's festival in Shtime, as well as establishing the City Choir, in addition to other cultural activities.

The mayor also announced the start of works on the construction of the Martyrs' Cemetery in Shtime, a project worth around half a million euros.
