"Political cigar", Rama harshly criticizes the Government for blocking projects in the capital

The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, has accused the Government of blocking several important projects in the capital, including those that were planned with foreign financial support.
Rama said that although the municipality is continuing work in many parts of the city, there are projects that have been blocked by the central level, for reasons that he described as political.
"We are working in all parts of the capital and are continuing the work where the Government has not been able to block it. But, where they have had the opportunity to do so, they have not missed the opportunity to block it," Rama said on DebatPlus.
He cited as an example the capital's ring road project, for which he said a budget of 204 million euros had been approved, including 84 million euros in the form of grants.
According to him, this project was ready for implementation three years ago, but was stopped by the Government.
"It is a major project for Pristina and its citizens, but unfortunately it has been blocked for purely political reasons – by parties or individuals who sell themselves as people who want the best for the country, but in fact act against the development of the capital," he said.
Rama also announced that the Municipality of Pristina has initiated criminal charges against any individual or citizen who, according to him, hinders the development of projects in the capital.
