"Water Drop" premieres at Cineplexx Pristina - The film representing Albania at the Oscars!

Tonight, Cineplexx Prishtina and Prziran opens its doors for an important cultural event: the solemn premiere of the film "Pikë Uji", a cinematographic production that already holds the title of Albania's official selection for the 2025 OSCAR Awards, in the "Best International Film" category.
This project is the fruit of an international collaboration between Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Italy and Poland – a co-production supported by the Kosovo Film Center, directed by Robert Budina and with well-known producers such as Sabina Kodra and Luan Kryeziu.
At the center of the film is the story of Aida, masterfully played by Gresa Pallaska – a strong woman, a 45-year-old civil servant, who has built a successful career in a bureaucratic system where compromises are often the price of survival.
But when the system she has served turns against her and her teenage son, Mark, faces serious charges, Aida finds herself faced with painful choices that challenge her morality, her motherhood, and her role in a privileged society that is faltering.
With a strong cast of actors that includes Astrit Kabashi and Arben Bajraktaraj, and a careful directorial aesthetic, "Pikë Uji" speaks powerfully about internal conflicts, challenges to power, and the sacrifices made in the name of love and survival.
The premiere will be held today, June 19, 2025, at Cineplexx Prishtina, at 19:00 PM, where you can meet the actors and watch the film from 20:00 PM. An evening filled with emotion, reflection and pride for Albanian cinematography is also expected, which is rising to the international stage.
