"Miracle in Cell No. 7", or, as it is called in Turkish, "Yedinci Kogustaki Mucize", is a 2019 Turkish film produced by Netflix that has currently become one of the most trending films of the moment. While Memo is being expelled, he confesses to Ova, saying, "The one-eyed giant saw him." We learn through flashbacks that the "one-eyed giant" is a cliff near where Seda slipped. As it turns out, this is also the location that the army deserter has decided to make his hideout. Ova discovers the deserter when she investigates, and the deserter tells her that he saw Seda slip and fall. However, when Ova returns with her great-grandmother, the army deserter has disappeared. Ova insists that she will return, sitting down to wait for him. Ova becomes obsessed when she sees the deserter again and starts to cross the school to wait for him. Ova's teacher promises her that if she comes to school she will help Ova become a good lawyer to help her father.
Everyone in the prison hates Memon because they think he is a child killer. They beat him almost to death. Seda's father is upset because he wants Memon hanged, not beaten to death. The prisoners are ordered not to touch Memon again. Memo is found guilty of murder and sentenced to death. Once the other inmates realize that Memo is mentally disabled, they warm to him and decide that the verdict is unfair. After Memo is stabbed while trying to defend a prisoner named Askorozlu in a knife fight, they decide to help Memo see his child before he is hanged. Askorozlu, a former member of the mafia, has his men from outside and they take Ovan and send him to his father's prison.
When Ova's grandmother realizes that Ova is missing, she has a heart attack and dies. On the way home, Ova tells the prison warden about the witness. The caretaker investigates his secret and finds his gun. The lawyer decides that they must find this deserter, in the name of justice for Memon.
They find him, but when they bring the evidence to Seda's father, he shoots him in the head and claims the deserter tried to escape. Without evidence, the order to hang Memon still stands. He's executed - or so we think.
How does "Yedinci Kogustaki Mucize" end?
Back in time! As it turns out, two days ago, Askorozlu conspired with the warden on a plan to save Memo. A prisoner named Yusuf Aga - who lost his daughter in a way he believes was his fault - has decided to die in Memo's place. He believes his life has less value because, without her grandmother, Ova would have no guardian with her father. Yusuf Aga instructs the warden to give Ova his metal book as a means of holding on.
The guards exchange Memon for Yusuf Again at the last minute. Askorozlut's men outside - the same ones who kidnapped Ovan in prison - cause a car accident to prevent Seda's father from attending the execution. Yusuf Aga is hanged and killed.
The defense attorney claims that Yusuf Aga escaped and sends his guards to search for him. Meanwhile, father and daughter are reunited, and then the guardian sends them both away on a boat to flee the country to escape police violence. They will presumably start a new life in another country.
