Video site LiveLeak, best known for hosting gruesome footage that its rivals would never publish, has shut down after fifteen years in business.
In a post on her blog, LiveLeak founder Hayden Hewitt did not give a clear reason for the site's shutdown, saying only that: "The world has changed a lot over the last few years, the Internet along with it, and us as humans."
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Hewitt offered no further details, but said that containing LiveLeak had become a struggle and that he and his team "just didn't have the strength to go on."
