Cigarette packs seized at Pristina Airport

Kosovo Police, specifically border officers at Pristina International Airport, as a result of the implementation of operational plans and additional commitments in identifying and preventing smuggling at the airport, have carried out several concrete actions on well-founded suspicions of smuggling of tobacco/cigarettes, which have attempted to be destined mainly to the United Kingdom through Kosovo.

"As a result of police engagements and actions only during the months of December 2024 - January 2025, four cases of tobacco/cigarette smuggling were identified, where suspected persons with foreign and Kosovo citizenship tried to smuggle cigarette packs/sticks of different quantities, to the city of London", the announcement states.

Furthermore, it is known that in the last case that happened on January 11, 2025, the smuggling of 41 packs/sticks of cigarettes, which the Bulgarian male suspect tried to smuggle through Kosovo to London, was prevented, as the destination his was for this city.


In these four cases, the Kosovo Police, in cooperation with the Kosovo Customs, seized over 340 packs/sticks of cigarettes of various types, mainly expensive types.

The Kosovo Police, together with the competent institutions, informs the public and the citizens that it has increased its commitment and presence in the checks of passengers, who are suspected of such contraband. /Telegraph/
