Driton Selmanaj, chairman of the LDK branch in Prizren and candidate for MP, has reacted after the vote recount process in the December 28, 2025 elections, denouncing manipulations of worrying proportions throughout Kosovo.

In a post on social media, Selmanaj says that the recount in the municipality of Prizren is yielding worrying data.

"The recount in Prizren is yielding extremely worrying data, where all candidates of all political parties, without exception, have had their votes affected or changed. Some with very large differences and some smaller ones, but none have escaped abuse or change of citizen will," Selmanaj wrote.

It should be noted that from the vote recount process so far, Selmanaj has minus 877 votes.

Selmanaj warns of well-organized scenarios for massive vote abuse and demands immediate action from institutions.

"I repeat what I have said about the February 9 elections, that the CEC, the Prosecutor's Office and other competent institutions, within the framework of their legal and constitutional powers, must take all actions to restore the regularity of the process and with this the abusers receive the deserved punishment. The vote of every citizen is sacred and all of us, without exception, must commit to protecting them at all costs," he wrote.

Selmanaj emphasizes that LDK should lead the mission to protect the electoral process.

"Protecting the regularity of the process where the political will of our citizens is expressed through voting is the most PATRIOTIC mission that we can do for our country today. Without a doubt, the Democratic League of Kosovo should lead this mission!", said Selmanaj.

He concludes with the appeal that a recount of votes throughout Kosovo is necessary to restore the trust of citizens.

"Recounting votes throughout Kosovo is the only way to uncover the truth and restore everyone's trust in this electoral process. In the February 9 elections, the CEC and political entities lacked the will, I hope they don't make the same mistake now!", he said. /Telegraph/
