Cars continue to remain the most imported goods in Kosovo, every year. In fact, with continuous and significant growth.
With a value of around 651 million euros, in 2025, over 16 percent more cars were imported than in 2024.
Based on official data from Open Data - Kosovo Customs, analyzed and processed by the online platform AutoNet, 44,207 vehicles were imported in 2025, compared to 37,954 brought in the previous year.
Meanwhile, the percentage of used cars remains very high, mainly due to more affordable prices.
In this case, 90%, or 39,877, are such cars while only 10% are new cars.
Meanwhile, market analysis shows that diesel-powered vehicles continue to dominate the import market in Kosovo during 2025, which together with gasoline-powered vehicles remain at nearly 80 percent of imported vehicles:
This, while the participation of electric vehicles and PHEVs remains very low, reflecting the lack of incentive policies and adequate infrastructure for this segment.
In addition to passenger cars, freight vehicles were also imported in 2025. Even in this segment, there is a dominance of used vehicles, at 98%, which reflects the orientation of businesses towards more economical solutions for their fleets. /KP/
