One month of detention for eight people arrested in the Mitrovica region

The Basic Court in Mitrovica, General Criminal Department, has imposed a one-month detention order on BH, IP, AS, OB, TR, AB, SH.S. and NR, who are suspected of having committed the criminal offenses of 'coercion' and 'unauthorized import, export, supply, transportation, production, exchange, brokerage or sale of weapons or explosive materials'.

The hearing to determine the detention of the accused was held today, March 20, 2025.

Defendants BH, IP and OB were remanded in custody on suspicion of having committed the criminal offenses of “coercion” and “unauthorized import, export, supply, transportation, production, exchange, brokerage or sale of weapons or explosive materials”.

While the defendants AS, TR due to the well-founded suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of "unauthorized import, export, supply, transportation, production, exchange, mediation or sale of weapons or explosive materials".

Defendants AS, SH.S. and NR due to the suspicion based on the fact that they committed the criminal offense of "unauthorized import, export, supply, transportation, production, exchange, brokerage or sale of weapons or explosive materials" in complicity.

Against this ruling, the dissatisfied parties have the right to appeal to the Court of Appeal, through the Basic Court in Mitrovica.

Kosovo Police arrested 16 people during the action carried out on Wednesday in south and north of Mitrovica, Leposaviq, Vushtrri and Skenderaj, after several months of investigations.

Police said that 21 locations were searched, and 9 firearms, 200 rounds of ammunition, various ammunition, 15 mobile phones, two pairs of handcuffs, a knife, gun barrels, gun holsters, and 1 DVR were seized.
