According to data from Omdia, Apple was the "king of the world" of smartphones last year, with a record 240.6 million units shipped and a market share of 19%.

It narrowly beat Samsung with 239.1 million shipments.

Interestingly, both Apple and Samsung increased their shipments by exactly 7% compared to 2024, foreign media write, reports Telegraph.

But the fastest growth among major manufacturers came from Honor with 11%.

In third place is Xiaomi with a 2% decline in sales during 2024, with 165.4 million units shipped for a market share of 13%.

It is followed by Vivo with 105.3 million shipments, 8% market share and 4% annual growth.

Oppo is in fifth place with 100.7 million shipments, 8% market share and a 3% decline in sales compared to 2024.

Transsion almost entered the top five, as it also has 8% market share, followed by Honor with 6%, Lenovo with 5%, Huawei with 4% and Realme with 3%.

As further noted, the overall market grew by 2% in 2025 to 1.25 billion units shipped.

All regions grew except for “Greater China,” which suffered a slight decline due to the “fading effect of the national subsidy scheme.”

Interestingly, however, Apple grew by 26% in mainland China thanks to "stronger demand for the iPhone 17 series." /Telegrafi/
