OLAF demands that North Macedonia return 660 euros due to the misuse of IPA funds

A 2015 project, worth 660.000 euros, for software at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy (MBPEU), is the case for which the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) found irregularities and recommended that the state return the money, reports Telegraph Macedonia.
As the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water, Ljupço Nikolovski informed today, it is not about any contract or issue related to IPARD, but about the project that was realized through IPA support for MBPEU.
The investigation has already been completed and there is a concrete case with concrete legal actions for the case. The case has been sent to the Basic Public Prosecution against organized crime, while the MBPEU appeals for the case to be fully clarified.
"We have an OLAF case that has been concluded with a recommendation. It is a 2015 project, but it does not have to do with IPARD, but with the IPA support of the EU-MBPEU for certain software for which the state must return the money. OLAF has conducted a procedure and has found that there are irregularities, therefore it recommends that the state return the funds. Regarding the case, in one of the last sessions, the Government has made a decision according to all procedures and the case has been sent to the Prosecutor's Office", said Nikollovski.
The minister emphasizes that the MBPEU requests and appeals for clarification of the case./Telegrafi/
