The dog's owner, named Briana, shared a video in late October that made TikTok users laugh.
The video shows Briana lying on the stairs pretending to sleep because he doesn't want to go down to his owner.
The owner explained in the comments that Briana is a year old and listens when it's time for lunch or play, but if it's anything else, he ignores her.
"POV: Your golden retriever is selectively listening and pretending to sleep so he doesn't have to go down the stairs," the owner wrote in the video, which has garnered more than 105 views.
