New Škoda, seven-seat SUV

Škoda has released photos of a brand new model. Last year, the Czech company generated revenue of 27.8 billion euros and an operating profit of 2.3 billion euros.

With sales of 916,600 units and growth of 6.9 percent on an annual basis, the company can now plan new strategic moves, reports Telegraph.

Among them, the expansion of production in Kazakhstan and Vietnam, as well as the strengthening of the presence in new markets such as India, stand out.

Also, electrification remains a key part of the strategy, with the renewed Elroq and Enyaq models in focus.

At the top of the range will soon be a model that currently has the working name "Space".

It is the production version of the 7 2022S concept, with which Škoda introduced its new "Modern Solid" design direction and announced great ambitions in the electromobility segment.

The three teaser images show dark views of the front and rear of the vehicle, along with a detailed view of the rear.

The side silhouette and grille have not yet been revealed, but elements such as the hood, rear doors, D-pillar and T-shaped LED lights are reminiscent of a scaled-down version of the Epiq concept.

The dimensions of the new SUV are expected to be similar to the Kodiaq, the largest and most expensive model in Škoda's range.

Like the Kodiaq, this model will have three rows of seats and will compete with the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9.

Mounted on the MEB EV platform, the Space will be available in several powertrain variants.

The base version will have an electric motor and rear-wheel drive, while more expensive options will offer four-wheel drive with two electric motors. The expected range should be around 600 kilometers.

With ambitious plans and growing demand for electric SUVs, the new model could play a key role in Skoda's global expansion.

We'll soon find out if the Space will succeed in becoming a worthy competitor to the Kia EV9 and other large electric SUVs.
