On paper "beast", but in practice quite different - Xiaomi can not maneuver on the track due to weak brakes

Chinese manufacturers are giving information about their electric cars with amazing performance.

Everyone praises their vehicle, but only real tests can reveal how good these cars really are, Telegraph reports.

This is how the problem was discovered with the Xiaomi SU7 electric car, which on paper has 663 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds.

However, Xiaomi seems to have skimped on the brakes. It turns out that the Xiaomi SU7 Max, which weighs about 2 thousand kilograms, has weak brake pads, unlike, for example, the Honda CR-V family SUV.

On the other hand, the competing Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has significantly larger discs and quality brakes.

Videos have also emerged from racetracks showing crashes with the SU7 Max, allegedly due to inadequate brakes.

In one video, the Chinese influencer was driving in Shanghai's Tianma District and approaching a left turn when the brakes failed and the car crashed into a tire-covered wall.

After only five laps on the track, the brakes overheated and the relatively small brake pads were completely worn.

Another influencer had a similar problem – he hit a fence and this time the airbags didn't deploy either. Xiaomi admits that the brakes are not intended for driving on racetracks. /Telegraph/
