"My world turned upside down in those moments", Blerta Kllokoqi recounts the letter she received from Ukë Rugova while he was in prison

In the most recent episode of the podcast of the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, the guest was Blerta Kllokoqi Rugova, the daughter-in-law of Ukë Rugova, the second son of the historical President of Kosovo, Ibrahim Rugova.

Blerta shared with the public her life story and the challenges she has gone through, including one of the most difficult moments she experienced in 2014, when her husband Uka was arrested on suspicion of being involved in an Italian visa affair.

During the conversation, Blerta confessed the emotions she felt at that time, being seven months pregnant with her son, Leka. She said that Uka's arrest had turned her world upside down, but a letter her husband had sent her through her lawyer had helped her find the strength to continue.

In the letter, Uka included a quote from his father, President Rugova: "Don't forget, in politics and in public appearances or serving the people, the easiest thing they can do for you is prison. Prison is a luxury."

Blerta added that she found inspiration for her strength to face this challenge from Rugova's mother, Sofia, who had lost her husband and father-in-law in difficult circumstances, but had never given up.

She said that she knew that Uka's process would have a beginning and an end and that she had to face this challenge with strength and patience. /Telegraph/
