Mucunski: Plan A is full EU membership, we expect predictability from Brussels, not a solution at any cost

Plan A is full EU membership and the country will not deviate from that plan and there is no dilemma regarding our commitment to the European path. However, what we expect from the Union is foresight, meaning that bilateral issues remain bilateral and we do not accept a solution at any cost, said Foreign Minister Timo Mucunski at a joint press conference with his Austrian counterpart Beate Meinl-Reisinger.

Mucunski, in response to a journalist's question regarding the messages of EU Council President Antonio Costa that the country should focus on Plan A and that, in a meeting with President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, he said that the proposal for constitutional amendments with delayed effect is unacceptable for the Bulgarian side, reiterated that our country is constantly proving its strategic goal of full EU membership with concrete steps.

"We are the first country in the region to sign a Security and Defense Partnership with the EU, something that is now proving to be very important in the current context. A key country according to the position of the EU's senior representatives in the implementation of the Reform Agenda, which is an integral part of the Growth Plan. So, we are showing in action that Plan A is full membership in the EU," said Mucunski. /Telegraph/
