"Mozzarella cheese contaminated with aflatoxin M1, produced from buffalo milk", AUV issues a notice

The Kosovo Food and Veterinary Agency informs the public that through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) it has received a notification with number 2026.0032, regarding the possible presence of aflatoxin M1 in Mozzarella cheese produced from buffalo milk.
The FVA emphasizes that based on the potential assessment of a serious risk, the Agency is taking the necessary measures, in accordance with the RASFF system procedures, to monitor this case and to withdraw Mozzarella cheese from buffalo milk from the market.
It is known that the affected lots are: 25346, 25347, 25349 and 25350, originating from Italy, producer Caseificio Coop. “La Contadina” ARL, exporter Cepparo SPA Italy and imported by Premio SHPK, Sllatine e Madhe.
"The Food and Veterinary Agency remains committed to continuous monitoring of the market and the food chain, implementing preventive and control measures to ensure that consumers in the Republic of Kosovo have access to safe, healthy food in accordance with national and international food safety standards," the announcement states. /Telegraph/
