Kosovo-Albania-Croatia military alliance, Colonel Toci: Serbia always finds an enemy

Çlirim Toci, colonel of the Albanian forces, has spoken about the official Belgrade reaction to the military agreement between Croatia-Kosovo and Albania.

He said there is no reason for Serbia to react.

"I am very surprised why President Vučić is so concerned about an agreement that was signed between Kosovo-Albania and Croatia and that has to do with the field of defense, an agreement that is the right of every state to sign," he said. for RTV Dukagjini.

"It is a transparent agreement that does not threaten any country in the Balkans, including Serbia itself," he said.

Toci said that Serbia will apparently find an excuse every time, an 'enemy' reason, as Prime Minister Plenkovic said in Brussels.

"In this case, the agreement was reached in the field of defense of our countries to justify the unstable situation that has existed in Belgrade for two months due to numerous protests," he said.

Otherwise, Albania, Kosovo and Croatia signed a trilateral agreement in the field of defense on Tuesday in Tirana.

The signing of this agreement took place in Albania by the three defense ministers, Pirro Vengu, Ejup Maqedonci and Ivan Anushiq.

Immediately after the signing, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) reacted by considering the agreement on the military alliance signed today in Tirana by the Defense Ministers of Kosovo, Albania and Croatia a "provocation".

The Serbian Foreign Ministry, through a statement, said that it will send an urgent request to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Croatia and Albania for detailed clarification regarding the signing of the trilateral memorandum on cooperation with Kosovo in the field of defense.

With this agreement, according to the assessment of the Ministry in Belgrade, both countries (Albania and Croatia) "took steps that undermine regional stability."
Authorities in Belgrade assessed that the initiative "represents an open provocation and a gross disregard for the reality on the ground."

And, Croatia's Defense Minister, Ivan Anusic, has responded to the reaction of the Serbian Foreign Ministry, which announced that Serbia "will not silently accept" the signing of the declaration that strengthens trilateral cooperation in the field of defense between Croatia, Kosovo and Albania.

"The time has passed when Croatia asked Belgrade what it would do and how it would function. That time is long behind us and will never happen again. Croatia has been an independent and sovereign state for 35 years, having gone through five years of aggression from the very same Belgrade policy that communicates what it communicates," the Croatian minister said, reports Dnevnik.hr, the Telegraph reports.

Croatia, according to him, will sign memoranda with its partners and allies.

"Albania is our ally in NATO, and Kosovo is our friendly country that we have recognized. Several other countries will join our memorandum. Not a single letter in that document mentions Serbia, any aggression or any activity that will endanger anyone, including Serbia," Anusic claimed.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo has also strongly condemned Serbia's latest statement regarding the trilateral memorandum signed between Kosovo, Croatia and Albania.

According to the MFA, this statement is not only aggressive and threatening, but also a clear violation of the Brussels Agreements.

Serbia, although it has claimed to accept these agreements, has refused to sign them, proving once again its lack of will to engage in dialogue.
"By making such statements, Serbia undermines its commitments to building good neighborly relations with Kosovo and recognizing its institutions. Its rhetoric contains hegemonic tones, as it tries to present itself as the dominant power in the Western Balkans, demanding explanations from two sovereign states, members of NATO and the EU. This behavior is unacceptable and violates the Brussels Agreement," the MFA's response states.
