Milanović: Kosovo should be recognized by all EU members

The President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, said today in a conversation with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in Zagreb, that all EU member states that have not yet recognized Kosovo's citizenship should do so.

Kosovo is not yet recognized by five EU member states: Spain, Cyprus, Slovakia, Romania and Greece since the declaration of independence in February 2008.

Milanovic has stated that all the conditions for citizenship and full international recognition of Kosovo have been met.

"All the conditions for citizenship and full international recognition of Kosovo have been met, and especially Kosovo should be recognized by all the members of the European Union who have not yet done so," said Milanovic.

He added that Kosovo has the full and solid support of Croatia on the path to membership in all international associations.

Milanovic also said that the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is also necessary, as this would mean greater stability in South-Eastern Europe, according to the statement of the Presidency of Croatia.

During the day, Prime Minister Albin Kurti also met Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Speaker of Parliament Gordan Jandrokovic.

Kurti is on a working visit to Croatia, after which he will travel to Slovenia.
