Microsoft no longer allows: New computer or no Windows 11

There is no longer a choice if you want to upgrade to Windows 11. In October 2021, Microsoft made the 21H2 version of Windows 11 generally available, along with it, the company also offered a workaround that bypasses the system requirements that allowed users with unsupported devices to upgrade to Windows 11.

This solution involved fixing a Registry key, which would allow Windows 11 to upgrade on unsupported computers by bypassing CPU and TPM checks.

However, a recent review of the supporting documentation shows that this information has been changed and the method mentioned has been deleted.

The change was made recently, following the announcement of Windows 11 version 24H2, reports Telegraph.

This means that Microsoft no longer officially supports this method of bypassing necessary system requirements, although the trick itself may work.

Microsoft's current official recommendation is a new computer if you want to upgrade to Windows 11, so apparently the company isn't a fan of those updating to "eleven" on unsupported devices.

This is probably why the company no longer wants to inform users about the Registry solution.

Microsoft partners, such as Dell and AMD, expressed their opinion that they agree with this decision of the Redmond company. /Telegraph
