Micron will invest up to 100 billion dollars in the semiconductor plant in New York

Micron will spend up to $100 billion over at least the next two decades building a new computer chip factory in upstate New York.

The project, which Micron claims will be the world's largest semiconductor fabrication plant, is expected to create nearly 50 jobs in New York, with a first-phase investment of $20 billion planned by the end of this decade.

Micron in August announced its plans to invest $40 billion by the end of the decade to build memory production in multiple phases in the United States.

The boost in new chip investment comes after US President Joe Biden signed the CHIPS and Science Act in August, providing $52.7 billion in subsidies for US semiconductor manufacturing and research to boost competition with China. /Telegraph/
