According to foreign media, the gathering of citizens began a few hours ago in various locations in Belgrade.

Three people were injured and the driver of the vehicle was arrested.

Thousands of Belgraders, from yesterday until after midnight, welcomed students arriving in the capital from all over the country, walking, running in a relay marathon or cycling, with ovations, fireworks and hugs.

At the height of the rally, in all locations in the city, the total number of people gathered from all over Serbia and those from Belgrade who welcomed them is estimated to be in the thousands.

Meanwhile, a fight was reported near "Nikola Pashiq" square where a group of men beat a young man.

Vučić makes statement about the mass protest in Belgrade, after its end

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has spoken about recent developments in Serbia, namely the protest in Belgrade.

At the beginning of his speech, he indicated that a large protest was held and no one was injured.

"There are several dozen people left in a drunken state who are trying to attack the police and everyone else in Pioneer Park. First of all, I would like to express my satisfaction that on behalf of all citizens of Serbia a large protest was held, with extraordinary and negative energy and anger and resentment that was not expressed in serious damage to the authorities," he was quoted as saying.


According to him, "a total of 44 people are in the Emergency Center, 11 in the Zvezdara Clinical Hospital Center, a total of 56 people, no one is seriously injured."

The mass protests in Belgrade have ended, at least "officially".

The large civic protests officially began in the Serbian capital at 16:00 PM and tens of thousands of citizens gathered in front of the Serbian Parliament.

The protests and gatherings of citizens in Belgrade, which began in the early hours of the morning, have officially ended and many citizens are slowly dispersing from Slavija Square and the Serbian Parliament, foreign media write, according to Telegraph.

Students from all over Serbia gathered until 13:00 PM at four locations in Belgrade.


From these locations, at 13 p.m. they headed towards the Serbian Parliament, where the largest protests were held.

The protests officially started at 16:00 PM and the center of Belgrade was completely blocked.

At around 20:00 PM, citizens observed 15 minutes of silence, which was interrupted for still unclear circumstances.

The students then removed their vests and announced that the protests would end from that moment on.

The incidents were recorded on Nikola Pasic Square, in front of the Serbian Parliament, while the media reported that a certain group from Pioneer Park threw bottles and stones at the students.

However, despite this incident, the situation has not escalated.

Students have retreated to their universities, the gendarmerie has lowered its shields, and citizens are expected to leave the streets. /Telegraph/
