In a recent announcement, SDSM expressed their concern about the high level of pollution in Skopje, which is among the most polluted cities in the world, and that Skopje residents are breathing polluted air without any visible intervention from local authorities. They have accused OBRM-PDUKM, which has a majority in the Skopje City Council, for not taking adequate measures and lack of commitment in the fight against pollution.
"There are no measures to reduce the current pollution, environmental projects are not implemented, there are no solutions for dealing with pollution in Skopje. OBRM-PDUKM in Skopje does nothing.
The Councilors of the City of Skopje have a proposal for the Budget for the next year, in which there are programs with amounts reduced by up to 70% compared to the amount of the previous year," their announcement states.
In response to this, the advisory group of SDSM and the coalition will prepare and propose amendments to improve the situation, identifying some key aspects that must be addressed to improve the environmental situation in Skopje. /Telegraph/
