The proposal of the Vetevendosje Movement that the country go to early parliamentary elections and the voting process be held on the same date as the local elections is not being liked by other parties. The Democratic Party of Kosovo, as well as the Democratic League, assess that the result of the February 9 elections obliges Vetevendosje to form new institutions.

Everyone talked about the date of the local elections at the party meeting with President Vjosa Osmani, but not the Vetëvendosje Movement.

She also proposed something else.

"It was an idea to announce both extraordinary elections and these local elections," said Albulena Haxhiu.

But, the request that, due to the political crisis, early parliamentary elections be held on the same day as the local elections is not going down well with other parties.

The Democratic League of Kosovo says that they are not afraid of new elections, but currently, according to them, the most important thing is to realize the will of the citizens expressed in the February 9 elections.

"Every political party is ready to enter an electoral process, but the logic of a consecutive electoral process is not common in this country. So, political resentments must be put aside and political maturity is needed for political agreements, and this also belongs to the former," said Krenar Xhaferi, LDK MP.

There is a similar assessment in PDK.

"In principle, I do not believe that we should go to national elections now. Second, I do not believe that there are neither conditions nor other opposition entities will agree with this concept of the LVV. And, under Article 3, the LVV has a constitutional obligation to create institutions," said Ferat Shala, a PDK MP.

Meanwhile, political analyst Albinot Maloku estimates that other parties are not obligated to accept Vetëvendosje's request.

"Other subjects do not have the necessity for the process to take place with the local process, therefore they do not have the obligation to fulfill this request and expectation of the LVV," said Maloku.

Three dates have been discussed for the local elections: October 5, 12 and 19, while President Vjosa Osmani is expected to choose one of them. /Dukagjin/
