The constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly was held today, where Albulena Haxhiu was elected speaker.
The Assembly also elected the vice-presidents. The vice-presidents elected were Ardian Gola from LVV, Vlora Çitaku from PDK, Kujtim Shala from LDK, Emilia Rexhepi from the multiethnic group and Slavko Simić from the Serbian List.
The constitutive session was led by the oldest MP in this legislature, Avni Dehari from the Vetëvendosje Movement, while the youngest MP, Fatma Taçi from KDTP, served as an assistant in opening the proceedings.

The Members of the Assembly of Kosovo elected Albulena Haxhiu from the Vetevendosje Movement as Speaker today.
Haxhiu was elected president of the tenth legislature with 66 votes in favor, 44 against, and 8 abstentions.

The Vetevendosje Movement Parliamentary Group nominated MP Albulena Haxhiu for Speaker of the Parliament.
Haxhiu's proposal for Speaker of the Assembly was made by MP Glauk Konjufca.

After the Temporary Committee verified the quorum and mandates, the deputies of the Kosovo Assembly took the oath.
The oath statement states that the deputies will perform their duties with dignity and in the interest of Kosovo.
"I, a member of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, swear that I will honorably and with dedication perform my duty and represent the people with dignity, work in the interest of Kosovo and all its citizens, commit myself to the protection and respect of constitutionality and legality, to the protection of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and institutional integrity of Kosovo, to the guarantee of human rights and freedoms, in accordance with the laws of the country. The temporary committee established the quorum and mandate of the deputies.
After this finding, the deputies will take the oath.
The chairman of this Commission was Adnan Rrustemi.
"The commission finds that 120 deputies have been certified in the tenth legislature," he said, adding that the validity of the mandates has also been ascertained.
There are 118 deputies in the constitutive session, thus proposing the continuation of the proceedings of the constitutive session.

The Assembly of Kosovo established the Temporary Committee for the Verification of Quorum and Mandates. The Committee was established with 108 votes in favor, as many as were present.
Adnan Rrustemi was proposed by the Vetëvendosje Movement to be the chairman of the Commission.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo is represented by MP Përparim Gruda, while the Democratic League of Kosovo is represented by a member of the Commission, Armend Zemaj.
From the Serbian List is Srdjan Popovic.
From the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo is Albana Bytyçi.
Other parties in the Assembly will also be represented by one MP in this Assembly.

The constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly has begun.
The session is being chaired by the oldest member of Parliament, Avni Dehari.

The elected MP of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Armend Zemaj, before the start of the constitutive session, said that the LDK seeks the formation of new institutions.

Acting Prime Minister, also the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, has said that they are aiming for the successful constitution of the tenth legislature and the formation of a new government.

MP Mimoza Kusari Lila has confirmed before the start of the constitutive session that Albulena Haxhiu will be the Vetëvendosje Movement's candidate for Speaker of the Parliament.
"Yes, I believe, both the proposed and the Speaker of the Assembly," she said, when asked if Haxhiu would be the LVV's proposed candidate for Speaker of the Legislature.

MP Mimoza Kusari Lila said today before the start of the constitutive session that there is a possibility that two sessions will be held tonight.
