In September and October of 1989, a group of writers and intellectuals, at the time of the greatest political and social unrest in Kosovo, agreed to establish a political party - the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).
This group appointed the presidency of the LDK with chairman Ibrahim Rugova, secretary Jusuf Buxhovi and members of the presidency Fehmi Agani, Bujar Bukoshi, Ali Aliu, Nekibe Kelmendi, Mehmet Kraja and well-known figures of writers and intellectuals.
The founding assembly was held on December 23, 1989 in the premises of the Writers' Association of Kosovo.
After the war in Kosovo, LDK led by Ibrahim Rugova won the elections convincingly.
This party says it is committed to democracy, which will ensure the full legal and political equality of all citizens. Currently the leader of the party is Lumir Abdixhiku.
And on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the founding of Abdixhiku with party structures, today at 10:30 a.m. they pay homage to the grave of the former president, Ibrahim Rugova, while from 18:00 p.m., a solemn manifestation is organized in honor of this day.
The LDK has issued a notice on the activities of Abdixik.
"On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic League of Kosovo, the chairman, dr. Lumir Abdixhiku with party structures, at 10:30 a.m. pay homage to the grave of the Historical President, Ibrahim Rugova, while from 18:00 p.m., a solemn demonstration is organized in Klan Arena, in honor of this holiday," the announcement states. /Telegraph/
