A campaign against electricity price hikes is launched

Luan Hasanaj from the organization Let's Do It - Ta Pastrojmë Kosoven has announced that a group of activists has been formed, which has launched a campaign against the increase in the price of electricity in Kosovo.

This initiative comes in response to the decision of the Electricity Regulatory Office (ERO), which has proposed that the price of electricity will increase by about 15 percent starting next month. The proposal has already sparked numerous reactions in public opinion and on social networks, while many citizens have expressed their concerns about the high cost of living.

In a Facebook post, Hasanaj called for citizen mobilization against this proposal, launching the campaign #NotACentMore, through which it is requested to increase pressure on institutions not to approve the increase in electricity prices.

"Friends, we are launching a #NoCentMeShume campaign to oppose ERO's proposal to increase the price of electricity. The reasons are numerous, each of us knows them," he wrote.

He stressed that the increase in the price of electricity will burden citizens even more, given that most families in Kosovo are already facing economic difficulties.

"The majority of Kosovo citizens cannot afford the price increase! Please share the hashtag #NoCentMore and tag the Energy Regulatory Office and the Government of Kosovo," he appealed.

This campaign is receiving great support on social media, with many citizens sharing the message and demanding greater transparency in decision-making that directly affects their lives.

On the other hand, ERO has defended its proposal, arguing that the price increase is necessary due to high supply costs and investments in the energy sector. However, critics of this proposal say that such an increase will hurt low-income families the most and will worsen the economic crisis in the country.

It now remains to be seen whether the campaign #NotACentMore will have an impact on the decision-making of the authorities and whether ERO will review the proposal for increasing the price of electricity. /Telegraph/
