Intense rainfall on Sunday has caused landslides and rockslides on the road leading to Rugova, in Peja, endangering traffic safety.
In some photos published on social networks, it can be seen that one lane of the road is completely blocked by mud and rocks, while in other parts there is a lot of debris that makes crossing extremely dangerous.
At the scene, it is reported that traffic is moving with great difficulty and slowly.
Drivers traveling in this direction are forced to stop or wait for a long time, increasing the risk of accidents, especially on sharp curves and sections of road with limited visibility.
Several small vehicles were seen reversing due to the inability to pass.
Earlier, the spokesperson for the Municipality of Peja, Faik Zekaj, said that the situation is not serious.
"The rain has started, but it's not heavy, it's not serious at the moment. We are on the ground and we will see what the situation is like," said Zekaj.
He also said that so far it is not known whether any damage has been caused and that the situation on the ground will be assessed.
Likewise, the Director of Protection and Rescue in the Municipality of Peja, Gëzim Gashi, said that all emergency teams were mobilized and intervened immediately after the rainfall. /Telegrafi/
