Kurti convenes the government cabinet for the last time for this year, eight decisions are made

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, on Friday held the last meeting of the government cabinet for 2024.

In this meeting, without any issue off the agenda, eight important decisions were approved that affect different areas, such as social welfare, waste management, foreign policy and economic development.

Allowances for children and pensioners
The distribution of 100 euro allowances for children 0-16 years old and for pensioners was approved as a social support measure.


Regulation on protection from domestic violence
A new regulation was approved for the organization and functioning of the Office of the National Coordinator for protection from violence in the family and against women, as part of the National Strategy for protection from violence.

International sanctions against Russia
The government amended and supplemented the decision on the implementation of sanctions against individuals and entities that threaten the territorial integrity of Ukraine, in accordance with EU policies.

Expropriation of properties for the customs terminal in Merdare
A preliminary decision was approved for the expropriation of properties for public interest, to help operationalize the customs terminal in Merdare.

Changes in the rules of origin under the Pan-Euro-Mediterranean Convention
Strategic changes were adopted to boost exports, improve competitiveness and attract new investment.

Agreement with EFTA
The Minister of Industry, Enterprise and Trade will sign an agreement with the EFTA states to improve economic and trade relations, facilitating local exports.

Strategy for integrated waste management 2024-2035
The aim is to recycle 50% of waste by 2035 and reduce landfill below 10% by 2045, creating a more sustainable and environmentally beneficial model.

Approval of official documentation of past meetings
Minutes and transcripts of previous meetings were approved, guaranteeing transparency and accountability in the work of the Government.
