Kurti: We are equipped with an apparatus which is the only one in the Balkan region

Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, visited the Clinic of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine where they said that investments are being made in increasing the quality of diagnostics as well as the quality of services for patients.

The head of the executive stated that more than 390 thousand euros have been invested in Radiology, Surgery and Medical Biochemistry.

After the visit to the KKUK clinics, Krti said that the waiting rooms and corridors have been renovated in Radiology.

"Here where we are located (Radiology), we have adapted the corridors and waiting rooms, in addition to the Radiology Clinic, also in Medical Biochemistry and Surgery. The total value is slightly more than 393 thousand euros and the works have been completed over 90 percent in these three clinics.

Right where we are now, in Radiology, this has been successfully completed. We aimed to arrange waiting rooms and corridors for patients and families in the lobbies of these three clinics, Radiology, Biochemistry and Surgery. On this occasion, we have treated all the elements of the interior, which also make the quality work of doctors, specialists and nurses. But also the most dignified and successful treatment of patients", declared Kurti.

The head of the executive said that an apparatus worth 850 euros was purchased, which is the only one in the Balkan region.

"We are equipped with an apparatus which is the only one in the Balkan region. The new device is called Spect/CT with a value of 850 thousand euros. It was bought from the state budget. Although there have been requests since 2018, it has never been purchased. Spect/CT uses radioactive isotopes to create functional images and show how both organs and tissues in the human body work. In parallel with CT that creates structural images in high detail for the anatomy of the body and the combination of these two techniques helps in more accurate diagnosis", added Kurti to the journalists.

The Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, said that they are working to increase the quality of services but also the diagnosis of patients.

"Our investments aim to increase the quality of patient diagnostics so that patients are diagnosed in Kosovo and intervened in Kosovo, because in parallel with the investments in diagnostics, we are also investing a lot in equipment for treatment in the most qualitative and comfortable way for professionals. health, but also in the most qualitative way that our citizens can receive these services here.

Now in the Radiology Clinic, as you can see, it is the first step of the intervention at the counters that we will continue in the Biochemistry Clinic and then completely in the surgical block so that the service component of the patients who are waiting for this service life in order, without the usual tollovi.
