Kurti: Investigations into the attack in Ibër-Lepenc are ongoing, details about the involvement of foreign actors will be published

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has reacted again to the latest attack in the Ibër-Lepenci area, raising concerns about the involvement of foreign actors in this incident.

According to him, the arrested are connected to the "Civil Defense" organization, which is financed and supported by Belgrade.

In a post on Platform X, Kurti noted that the seized weapons and explosives included military insignia associated primarily with Serbian and Russian forces, specifically mentioning the Russian Air Force (VDV).

After the terrorist attack on Friday evening, among the seized weapons and explosives, military signs were also found. The vast majority of them belonged to the Serbian and Russian Armed Forces, such as the Russian Air Force (VDV). The connections of the arrested persons with the Belgrade-sponsored "Civil Defense" terrorist organization indicate the presence of foreign actors," he wrote.

He also recalled Serbian paramilitary activities in northern Kosovo last year and Serbia's ongoing sponsorship of crime as a major destabilizing factor.

"Of course, terrorist events do not happen in a vacuum. In this context, Serbia's paramilitary incursion last year and the ongoing sponsorship of crime through various methods in northern Kosovo leaves little room for speculation."

The Prime Minister emphasized that the investigations are still ongoing and that further details on the involvement of foreign actors will be published.

"However, the investigation is ongoing, and further details - along with the number of foreign parties involved - will be revealed," Kurti wrote on the X platform.
