On April 4, the campaign for the extraordinary elections in the four northern municipalities begins

In the four northern municipalities of Kosovo, there will be an election campaign for 18 days. At today's meeting of the Central Election Commission (CEC), it was decided that from April 4 to April 21, the campaign for the extraordinary elections for mayors, which will be held on April 23, will be organized.
The member of the CEC from the ranks of the PDK, Arianit Elshani, said that the Council for electoral operations has examined the recommendation of the secretariat for the extraordinary elections in the four northern municipalities.
"Confirmation of the certification of political entities and candidates certified in December 2022, which will take place from March 9 to March 13, 2023. Where the political entities notify the CEC of any changes if they have in relation to the candidacies that are already certified by the CEC in December last year. The deadline for applying for certification of political entities and candidates for participation in the elections begins on March 9 and ends on March 18. The draw of lots for the ranking of candidates and political entities on the ballot, who will apply, because we already have a draw set for December, which will be held on April 3, 2023," Elshani announced.
After the secretariat's recommendation, Elshani said that the dates for the election campaign and voting for citizens outside Kosovo have also been set.
"The election campaign period for political entities and candidates begins on April 4 and ends on April 21. The period for changing the voting center within the municipality begins on March 22 and ends on April 2. The application period for the registration of voters outside Kosovo begins on March 20 and ends on March 27, 2023. The period for voting by mail for voters registered outside Kosovo begins from April 8 to April 21. The publication of the list and address of the voting centers will take place on March 22", he added.
At today's meeting of the Central Election Commission, the report of the derivatives expenses for the past year was also approved. It was emphasized there that the cars are outdated and the cost of maintaining them exceeds the possibilities.
