Knightley became popular at the age of 17 with her role in the British hit film, "Bend It Like Beckham", and then was nominated for an Oscar for her appearance in the film "Pride and Prejudice".

PTSD

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder that is triggered by very stressful, frightening or painful events.

PTSD sufferers usually recall the traumatic event through nightmares and flashbacks, and may experience feelings of isolation, irritability, and guilt.

They may also have sleep problems, such as insomnia, and find it difficult to concentrate.

These symptoms are often severe and lasting, significantly affecting the daily life of the person suffering from this condition.

And just in her early twenties, she was one of the richest women in the film industry, though it cost her her mental health, as she felt lonely as the professional commitment was very intense.

"I thought about it (abandoning acting), especially in the period when I had a mental breakdown", said the 33-year-old for Hollywood Reporter.

"I thought I was worthless. I felt like I didn't exist and that I was that strange creature with this strange face, to which people react in an extreme way", she further emphasized. /Telegraph/
