Canada releases an image it says shows a UFO shot down by a US fighter jet over Alaska

Canada has released the first image of a UFO that crashed over Alaska and the Yukon Territory following the infamous February 2023 Chinese spy drama.

The unusual photo depicts an apparently circular white object with indeterminate edges – shot down by a US Air Force F-22 on a joint mission with the Canadian Armed Forces.

An unusual feature of the newly released photo is that it was already designated as 'unclassified' within days of the now 19-month incident.

A possible reason, as a public relations official with Canada's Department of National Defense (DND) warned, was the internal fear that the publication of this image "could create more confusion", the Telegraph reports.

That official, a director of electronic communications for Canada's DND named Taylor Paxton, advised colleagues that this confusion was inevitable 'given the current public environment and statements related to the facility.'

Paxton suggested that any move by the Royal Canadian Air Force to release the photo on social media would raise more questions from the general public and the press "regardless of the text that would accompany the post."

So this publication adds more mystery to the wave of UFO activity.

Iain Boyd, professor of aerospace engineering and director of the Center for National Security Initiatives at the University of Colorado, described the Canadian government's reluctance to release the image as a matter of national security.

"Certainly the failure to provide more information has fueled conspiracy theories," Boyd said.

Alternatively, a petition to the Canadian military for a higher resolution version of this image is being planned. /Telegraph/
