Security expert Drizan Shala commented on the next trilateral meeting between Albania, Croatia and Kosovo, which took place in Munich.

According to Shala, this meeting marks an important step towards the gradual shaping and this trilateral agreement also foresees the creation of a joint military battalion and the strengthening of regional cooperation in the field of security.

Shala said that this initiative aims to create a NATO-style regional security alliance, where components include a joint center for the exchange of intelligent information and the development of a joint military industry.

He added on the Balkan Talks show on Euronews Albania that the regional agreement could have the support of NATO and the United States, also highlighting the security challenges from countries that are not NATO members, such as Serbia.

"The trilateral agreement is being shaped. And in this segment, it should be emphasized that we will have a joint military exercise. Yes, and this joint military exercise will mean the creation of a joint military battalion in the medium term. So, a regional alliance is slowly being formed in the NATO concept. Are they moving from a military agreement to a regional military alliance. So, we are slowly shaping - or we can say that we are the first in the NATO concept where we will have a regional security alliance, where Croatia, Albania and Kosovo are integral parts."

"The meeting was precisely in shaping the concept of this agreement, where the main basis will undoubtedly remain the creation of a joint military battalion. At the same time, as a second segment, there will be the creation of a 'Joint Center' for the exchange of military intelligence information and the third segment, undoubtedly, will be in terms of creating a joint military industry," he added.
